Sangli District is a district of Maharashtra State in west-central India. Sangli City is the district headquarters. It is known as the sugar bowl of India due to its high sugarcane productivity. As per census 2011, Sangli District population is 28,22,143 (28.22 Lakhs) of which 14,35,728 are males and 13,86,415 are females. The literacy rate is 81.48 % & the Male-Female Sex ratio is 966. The child sex ratio is 867
