Navi Mumbai is a metropolitan city in the State of Maharashtra, India. Its the largest planned city of India, situated on the west coast of the Indian subcontinent, Near Mumbai. The major part of Navi Mumbai covers the southern part of Thane taluka (from Thane District) and part of Panvel and Uran taluka (from Raigad District).

As per the provisional data of the 2011 census, Panvel had a population of 180,020 ( 1.8 Lakhs) out of which the male population was 92,484 and the female population was 87,536. The literacy rate was 93.89%. Male literacy was 95.97% and female literacy was 91.71%. Male Female Sex ratio is 946
The total Numbers of infants in the age category of 0-6 years are 18,459. The Child Sex ratio is 904.
