Sagar is a city in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. The city is around 160 Kms  north west from Jabalpur & 172 kilometres northeast of state capital, Bhopal.

As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Sagar City in 2011 is 273,357 (2.73 Lakhs) of which the male population is 142,655 and the female population is 130,702

The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Sagar for 2011 is 5467 people per sq. km. Sagar city administers area is 50 sq. km

LITERACY RATE

The average literacy rate of Sagar City in 2011 was 90.23 %. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy was 94.55 % and 85.52%. respectively. Total literate in Sagar city was 217,632 of which 119,068 are males while 98,564 are females.

SEX RATIO
