Dewas City and District Population

Dewas is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It’s in the Malwa region and formerly the seat of two princely states, Dewas Junior State, and Dewas Senior State, ruled by the Puar clan of Maratha. The name Dewas is derived from the Devi Vaishini hill in the city, commonly known as Tekri. The hill has a temple of the deities Devi Tulja Bhawani, Chamunda Mata, and Kalika Mata.

The average literacy rate of Dewas City in 2011 was 85.83 %. If things are looked at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 92.66 % and 78.49%. respectively. The total literate in Dewas city was 218,877 of which 122,388 are males while 96,489 are females.
