Jhansi is a historic city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It lies in the Bundelkhand region and is often referred to as the Gateway to Bundelkhand. The city is located between the Pahuj and Betwa rivers at an average elevation of about 285 meters (935 ft).
Jhansi is also known for its historical importance during the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and for its association with Rani Lakshmibai.
