Dominican Republic Ethnic Population
The population of the Dominican Republic is mainly made up of people of mixed African and European ethnicity, with small minorities of Black and white people. The original colonizers were mostly Spaniards who were later joined by immigrants from East Asia, as well as from European countries such as France, Italy, England, and Germany. Additionally, a small number of Sephardic Jews and Arabs from North Africa and the Middle East also settled in the country during the 19th and 20th centuries.
