As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Imphal City in 2011 is 268,243(2.68 Lakhs) of which the male population is 130,735  and the female population is 137,508

The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Imphal for 2011 is 7726 people per sq. km. Imphal city administers area is 34.72 sq. km

LITERACY RATE

The average literacy rate of Imphal City in 2011 was 90.80 %. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy was 95.08 % and 86.77% respectively. Total literate in Imphal city was 217,928 of which 110,518 are males while 107,410 are females.

SEX RATIO
