Warangal is a city in the Indian state of Telangana. With a population of over 7 lakhs, Warangal is the second-most populous city in the state after the capital Hyderabad. It is one of the eleven cities in the country to have been chosen for the Heritage City by the Government of India.

As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Warangal City in 2011 is 6,15,998 (6.15 Lakhs) of which the male population is 3,08,509 and the female population is 3,07,489


The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Warangal for 2011 is 2000 people per sq. km. Warangal city administers area is 406 sq. km


The average literacy rate of Warangal City in 2011 was 83.30 % If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy was 90.39% and 76.22% respectively. Total literate in Warangal city was 463,801 of which 251,406 are males while 212,395 are females.
