Haldwani is a city in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Its the largest city in the Kumaon region & Haldwani Urban agglomeration has 10,32,095 people, and is the second-most Urban Agglomeration in Uttarakhand, after Dehradun.

As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Haldwani-cum-Kathgodam  in 2011 is 156,060 (1.56 Lakhs) of which the male population is 81,918 and the female population is 74,142


The average literacy rate of Haldwani-cum-Kathgodam in 2011 was 81.75 %. If things are looked out at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 84.84 % and 78.34%. respectively. Total literate in Haldwani-cum-Kathgodam was 111,410 of which 60,678 are males while 50,732 are females.
