Bathinda is a city and Municipal Corporation in the malwa region of Punjab, India. It is one of the oldest cities and is the fifth largest city of Punjab. Bathinda is known as the ‘City of Lakes’ due to its artificial lakes.

As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Bathinda City in 2011 is 285,813 (2.86 Lakhs) of which the male population is 151,782 and the female population is 134,031

LITERACY RATE

The average literacy rate of Bathinda City in 2011 was 82.84 %. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy was 87.86 % and 77.16%. respectively. Total literate in Bathinda city was 211,318 of which 118,888 are males while 92,430 are females.
