As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of Lucknow City in 2011 is 28,17,105 (28.17 Lakhs) of which the male population is 14,60,970 and the female population is 13,56,135.

The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Lucknow is 5500 people per sq. km. Lucknow city administers area is 631 sq. km
LITERACY RATE
The average literacy rate of Lucknow City in 2011 was 82.50%. If things are looked out at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 86.04% and 78.70% respectively. The total literate in Lucknow city was 20,81,727 of which 11,24,261 are males while 9,57,466 are females.
SEX RATIO
With regards to the Sex Ratio in Lucknow, it stood at 928 per 1000 males. The average national sex ratio in India is 940 as per the reports of the Census 2011 Directorate. In the 2011 census, the child sex ratio is 904 girls per 1000 boys
CHILD POPULATION
