Peru’s population is a blend of different ethnicities. Approximately 60% of the population are mestizos, meaning they have mixed Indigenous and European ancestry. The Quechua people, who are Indigenous, make up about 22% of the population.
There is also a small minority of people of European ancestry, who make up roughly 6% of the population. People of African descent represent about 3.6% of the population, while the Indigenous Aymara people constitute 2.4%. Additionally, there is a small minority of people with Japanese ancestry, as well as people of other ethnicities.
