Jabalpur is one of the major cities in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.  As per the 2011 census, it is the fourth largest populated city in Madhya Pradesh and the country’s 40th-largest City. It is known for the Dhuandhar Falls and the white Marble Rocks. Jabalpur is one of the 100 smart cities of India.

As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of Jabalpur City in 2011 is 10,55,525 (10.55 Lakhs) of which the male population is 5,45,510 and the female population is 5,10,015


The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Jabalpur for 2011 is 3390 people per sq. km. Jabalpur city administers area is 263 sq. km


The average literacy rate of Jabalpur City in 2011 was 87.39 %. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy was 90.78 % and  83.77 %. respectively. Total literate in Jabalpur city was  825,006 of which  442,075 are males while  382,931 are females.
