Religion in Chad

Chad is a religiously diverse society, with Islam and Christianity being the most widely professed religions. Islam is followed by 55 % of the population, and Christians are at 41.1%. With a tiny minority of adherents of traditional African religions and other religions.

Among Chadian Muslims, 95% professed to be Sunni Muslims, 1% Shia, and 4% Ahmadi are largely concentrated in northern and eastern Chad, and animists and Christians live primarily in southern Chad and Guéra.  About 4% were followers of indigenous and other religions or unaffiliated.
