Religion in Mali

The majority religion in Mali is Islam and 94.5% of the population practices Islam. Muslims are mostly Sunni belonging to the Maliki school of jurisprudence influenced by Sufism. Ahmadiyya and Shia’s minorities are also present.

The second-largest religion in the country is Christianity which is followed by 2.3% of the population. The remaining 2.5 % of Malians adhere to traditional African religions such as the Dogon religion.
