Fish Production in India

India is the third largest fish-producing country in the world accounting for 7.96% of the global production and the second largest producer of fish through aquaculture, after China. The total fish production during the FY 2022-23 is estimated at 14.73 million metric tonnes. The Total Value of Fish exports in 2019-20 is 46,662.85 Crores and 1,289,651 Tonnes of Fish is Exported

The state with the Largest Fish Production is Andhra Pradesh (29.47%). Next comes West Bengal (12.58%) followed by Gujarat (6.06%), Odisha (5.78%), and Tamil Nadu (5.34%)
