The Bahamas’ population is predominantly Christian. About 96 % of the population adheres to Christianity. Among Christians Protestant (80%) is the largest group followed by Roman Catholics (29.6%) and other Christians at 1.3%.
It also has smaller communities of Jews, Muslims, Baháʼís, Hindus, Rastafarians, and practitioners of traditional African religions such as Obeah. The remaining 3% are classified as unaffiliated, which can mean agnostic, atheist, or “nothing in particular.”

Bahamas Ethinic population
The majority of The Bahamas’ population is of African descent, with a significant but small minority consisting of individuals of mixed European and African heritage. There is also a similar number of descendants of English pioneer settlers and loyalist refugees from the American Revolution. Other ethnic groups in the Bahamas include Asians and people of Spanish and Portuguese origin.
