Kuwait Population and religion percentage

Kuwait, officially the State of Kuwait, is a country in Western Asia. It is situated on the northern edge of Eastern Arabia at the tip of the Persian Gulf, bordering Iraq to the north and Saudi Arabia to the south, and shares maritime borders with Iran.  According to the Central Statistics Bureau, as of January 1, 2024, Kuwait’s total population stood at 4,913,271 (49 lakh) with Kuwaiti nationals making up 31.5% (1,545,781 people) and non-Kuwaitis (expatriates) accounting for 68.5% (3,367,490 people).

Religion in Kuwait

Islam is both the official and majority religion in Oman and Its followed by  74.57% of the population. Most Qatari citizens belong to the Salafi Muslim movement and 5–15% of Muslims in Qatar follow Shia Islam with other Islamic sects being very small in number.

There are also small native Christian and Baháʼí Faith populations in Kuwait.

Other religions represented in the country including Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Sikhism are practiced by non-nationals.

As of 2022, Kuwait has a population of 4.45 million people of which 1.45 million are Kuwaiti citizens while the remaining 3 million are foreign nationals from over 100 countries.

Indian Population in Kuwait

Indians are the largest expapt population in numbers and make around 22% of the Kuwait population & approx population of Indians in Kuwait as of 2021 is 10 Lakhs.  The majority of these originate from the south Indian states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with the former constituting 66% of the population of Indian nationals.
