As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Karimnagar City in 2011 is 260,899 (2.60 Lakhs) of which the male population is 131,769 and the female population is 129,130


The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Karimnagar for 2011 is 7300 people per sq. km. Karimnagar city administers area is 40.50 sq. km


The average literacy rate of Karimnagar City in 2011 was 86.75 %. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy was 92.61 % and 80.79%. respectively. Total literate in Karimnagar city was 204,614 of which 110,146 are males while 94,468 are females.
