The Kochi City Police is part of the Kerala police and responsible for maintaining Law and Order enforcement in Kochi City. Kochi City Police has a Commissionerate system, established in the 1960s. The Commissionerate is headed by the Commissioner of Police. He is assisted by One Additional commissioner of Police, Two Deputy commissioners of Police (Law & order and administration), and 10 Assistant Commissioners of Police.
Kochi City Police is subdivided into Sub Divisions, Circles, and Police Stations each headed by an officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Circle Inspector of Police designated as Inspector of Police, and Sub Inspector of Police respectively. Law & Order unit consists of 3 police subdivisions and 26 police stations.
Sub Divisions are Mattanchery, Ernakulam & Thrikkakara. Kochi Police also has a Traffic, Armed Reserve Unit, Narcotics cell, Crime Branch, Cyber Cell, City Special Branch, Dog Squad, Highway Cell, Tourist Police, and Women Cell.
