The Amravati City police is part of the Maharashtra police & responsible for maintaining Law and Order enforcement in Amravati City. Amravati is the second-largest city in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra after Nagpur & It’s headed by the Commissioner of the Amravati Police.  

Amravati City Police Commissionerate was set up in 1998 after the bifurcation of Amravati Police into City Police Commissionerate and Amravati Rural. Police Commissioner is assisted by  3 Deputy Commissioner of Police ( HQ, Police Zone 1 & 2). The DCPs are assisted by 7 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPS).

Amravati City Police Commissionerate is comprised of 2 Talukas namely Amravati and Bhatkuli.  It’s Divided into Two Police Zones 1 & 2 further divided into 3 Police Sub Divisions namely Frezarpura, Rajapeth, and Gadge Nagar. Each Sub Division has 3-4 Police Stations under it.  

Apart from these, it has other units i.e Crime Branch, Economic Offences, Cyber Crimes, Traffic, Special Branch, Bomb Detection and Disposal squads, etc.  There are 10 Police Stations in Amravati City. Out of these 10 Police Stations, 7 Police Stations are in urban & 3 in rural areas.
