Wales Population and religion percentage

Wales is a country in Northern Europe and is part of the United Kingdom. It is bordered by England to the east, the Irish Sea to the north and west, the Celtic Sea to the southwest, and the Bristol Channel to the south.

According to the  Office of The National Statistics, The population of England and Wales in mid-year 2023 was estimated to be 60.9 million (60,854,727). This is an increase of 610,000 (1.0%), the largest annual numerical increase in at least 75 years. The population estimate of  Wales in mid-year 2023 was estimated at 3,164,400 (3.2 million)

The main population areas are in south Wales, including the cities of Cardiff, Swansea, and Newport, and the nearby valleys, with another significant population in the northeast around Wrexham and Flintshire.

Religion in Wales

Christianity is the largest religion in Wales followed by 57.6% of the population. Among Christians, Anglicans are the most common denomination, followed by the Catholics, Presbyterians, Methodists and Baptists. 

Non-Christian faiths account for 5%, and the remaining 32.1% are classified as unaffiliated, which can mean agnostic, atheist, or “nothing in particular.”

Other Religion includes Islam (1.5%) , Hinduism (0.3%), Sikhism (0.1%) , Judaism (0.1%) , Buddhism (0.3%) and other smaller faiths (0.4%)
