Religion in Lebanon

Lebanon is a religiously diverse country. Both Islam and Christianity are in equal numbers. Islam is practiced by 54% of the population and 40.5%  of the population follows Christianity.

The main sects followed by the Muslim population are Sunni, Shia, and a small number of Alawites and Ismailis. Christianity denominations are the Maronite Church, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Protestantism, and the Armenian Apostolic Church).

Druze is the third largest religion and are followed by an estimate 5% of the citizens in Lebanon.
