As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Begusarai City in 2011 was 251,136 (2.51 Lakhs) of which the male population was 133,931 and the female population was 117,205.

LITERACY RATE

The average literacy rate of Begusarai City in 2011 was 79.35 %. If things are looked at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 84.67 % and 73.25%. respectively. The total literate in Begusarai city was 169,161 of which 96,459 are males while 72,702 are females.

SEX RATIO
