Caste-wise percentage in Haryana

When discussing the social composition of Haryana, it is important to clarify that any figures on caste distribution are based only on rough estimates from various unverified sources. These estimates suggest that the Jat community is one of the largest groups, potentially comprising around 20–22% of the population. Other major communities, each estimated to form about 5% to 8% of the population, include Jatavs/Ramdasias, Rajputs, Aroras, Brahmins, and Vaishyas/Banias/Agarwals.

Communities such as Valmikis, Yadavs, Gujars, Sainis, Khatris, Telis, Dhanuks, Lohars, Kumhars, Tarkhans, Arians, Nais, and Sonars are generally estimated to form around 1% to 3% each. In addition, there are over 100 smaller caste and community groups, each constituting less than 1% of the total population.

It is also important to note that while some castes are evenly distributed across the state, others—though smaller in overall percentage—form significant population concentrations in specific districts and regions.
