The Northern Mariana Islands, officially the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is an unincorporated territory and commonwealth of the United States consisting of 14 islands in the northwestern Pacific Ocean.

According to the US census 2020, CNMI had the smallest population of the four U.S. Island Areas at 47,329 people, a decrease of over 12% since 2010. The total Land Area of the Northern Mariana Islands is 460 Km2 (178 sq. miles) and the Population Density of the Northern Mariana Islands is 125 per Km2 (324 people per mi2).
