India has the largest diaspora in the world & as per the Ministry of External Affairs, there are 3.2 Crores or 32 million Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) residing outside India.

As per the Ministry of External Affairs report, there are 746,550(7.46 Lakhs) Indians residing in Qatar. Out of which around

  • Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) – 745, 775 (7.45 Lakhs)
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) – 775

Indians in Qatar

Indians expats are the largest in numbers and make around 25% of the Qatar population & approx population of Indians in Qatar as of 2021 is 7.5 Lakhs.  The majority of these originate from the  Indian states of Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.

Professionals like engineers, doctors, chartered accountants, scientists, software experts, management consultants, architects, skilled workers like technicians and nurses, semi-skilled workers, retail traders and businessmen mainly constitute the Indian community. The regions with significant Indian populations are
