According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, India has the largest diaspora in the world, with nearly 35 million NRIs and PIOs living across the globe. As per the same report, there are about 995,528 Indians (nearly 1 million) residing in Kuwait.

A large section of the community traces its roots to Kerala and Tamil Nadu — with Malayali expatriates forming the majority, followed by workers and professionals from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.

Religion Among the Indian Community in Kuwait
The Indian diaspora in Kuwait is religiously diverse, consisting of Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, and Buddhists.
Muslims form the largest share, while Christian and Hindu communities are also well-represented. Indians enjoy the freedom to practice their faith, celebrate cultural festivals, and conduct community events and marriages.
