Bosnia and Herzegovina, also known informally as Bosnia, is a country in South and Southeast Europe, located within the Balkans. According to the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the estimated population of the country in mid-2022 was 3,531,159 or 3.5 million. 

From January to September 2024, 18,000 live births were recorded (a 1.88% decline from 2023), while 26,373 deaths occurred (a 2.19% increase), leading to a natural decrease of 8,373 people.  The population decline continues due to low birth rates, high mortality, and negative migration trends.
