Meghalaya

Meghalaya is a state in the northeastern region of India. It is the 22nd largest state by area and also by population. Meghalaya was formed by carving out two districts from the state of Assam: the United Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills, and the Garo Hills on 21 January 19722. As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Meghalaya in 2011 is 2,966,889 (29.66 Lacs)
