As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Siliguri City in 2011 is 5,13,264 (5.13 Lakhs) of which the male population is 263,702  and the female population is 249,562


The initial provisional data released by census India 2011, shows that the density of Siliguri for 2011 is 2700 people per sq. km. Siliguri city administers area is 260 sq. km


The average literacy rate of Siliguri City in 2011 was 85.91 %. If things are looked out at gender wise, male and female literacy was 89.51% and 82.11 % respectively. Total literate in Siliguri city was 395,802 of which 211,682 are males while 184,120 are females.
