It occupies the western three-eighths of the island which it shares with the Dominican Republic. It’s the third-largest country by area and the most populous country in the Caribbean.

Haiti is a Christian-majority country and 86.4% of the population adheres to Christianity. Roman Catholics (56.8%) is the largest denomination followed by Protestant churches (29.6%)

Non-Christian faiths account for 3% and include Islam, Hinduism, Baháʼí Faith, Jews, and African traditional faiths. The remaining 10.6% are classified as unaffiliated, which can mean agnostic, atheist, or “nothing in particular.”
