Deoghar City and District Population

Deoghar is a major city in Jharkhand, India. Deoghar is a Hindi word meaning abode (‘ghar’) of the Gods and Goddesses (‘dev’). Deoghar is also known as Baidyanath Dham and Baba Dham. As per provisional reports of Census India, the population of  Deoghar City in 2011 was 203,116 (2.03 Lakhs) of which the male population is 108,243 and the female population is 94,873

The initial provisional data released by Census India 2011, shows that the density of Deoghar for 2011 is 1706 people per sq. km. Deoghar city administers area is 119 sq. km

LITERACY RATE

The average literacy rate of Deoghar City in 2011 was 86.80 %. If things are looked at gender-wise, male and female literacy was 92.80% and 79.98%. respectively. The total literate in Deoghar city was 153,807 of which 87,540 are males while 66,267 are females.

SEX RATIO

With regards to the Sex Ratio in Deoghar, it stood at 876 per 1000 males. The average national sex ratio in India is 940 as per the latest reports of the Census 2011 Directorate. In the 2011 census, the child sex ratio was 864 girls per 1000 boys

CHILD POPULATION

Deoghar district is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state in eastern India. It’s known for the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga shrine and is a part of the Santhal Pargana division.
